Short Story

The biggest story for summer is a short one.
Dresses are still the all important anchor in any summer wardrobe giving us easy things to wear for work and play. Choose a shroom, a shift or an A-line trapeze, just make it super short, as all designers agree that the only way is up and hemlines shrink back to miniscule proportions not seen since the '60s.
Volume is key as a puffball silhouette or short voluminous sleeves.

Styling Guide

In Neutral

Urban layers and a loose silhouette give us easy looks for busy days and long summer nights.
A powdery soft palette of grey, plaster, puttyand nude is punctuated with metallics like silver gold and bronze.

Style tip:Choose one colour and layer shades.

Hippie Chic

Craft meets couture this summer to create a feminine, first class, boho look for the jet set.
Polish is more important than pretty, and crafty details take a back seat for a more deluxe finish. Hippie prints and long billowing, chiffon gowns are key to this new take on folk, off set with metallic accessories like silver python carry-alls, jewel encrusted flip flops and turbans which bring old school glamour for the beach

Romance

There was love in the air at the spring collections where designers like Marc Jacobs and Stefano Pialti at YSL gave us sweetly romantic themes made up of fragile layers, billowing chiffon, cascading frills and pretty floral prints.
On a darker note, poetic ruffled blouses return and beautiful, theatrical padded corsets and skirts at McQueen suggested a nostalgic notion of femininity that is whimsical and enchanting.
